Professional Profile

Bob Sharp is a Specialist in Foot and Ankle Surgery. In addition he has a general orthopaedic background and has published widely on many orthopaedic matters. He is a full-time Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. He is also a medical advisor to the Jockey Association and on the Medical Advisory Committee to the Horse Racing Authority.

Bob undertook his medical training at Cambridge followed by Oxford. He then completed his orthopaedic training on the Oxford Rotation before completing a Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Australia for a year. He was awarded the Gold Medal by The Royal College of Surgeons of England for The Most Outstanding Achievement in the FRCS Trauma and Orthopaedics exam and was awarded The Presidents Travelling Scholarship in 2001.

Bob was initially a Consultant in lower-limb Orthopaedic Surgery at Reading, before returning to Oxford in 2003 to take up the Foot and Ankle post that was created.
